FilmWise Media was pleased to film the wedding of Walter and Beth on May 26, 2012.  Walter and Beth were married in the Old Scotch Church, a tradition in the Helmick family. It was great being able to film another Helmick wedding at this beautiful church.

The reception was held at the McMinnville Ballroom in McMinnville, OR. It was such a beautiful location with lots of space. We were able to use our custom dolly that we manufactured for some great, smooth shots.

Eve & Emily

Film: Eve & Emily
Date: March 21 – April 1, 2012
Location: Hood River, OR

FilmWise Media was hired by Prescience Films in Hood River to co-produce Eve & Emily, a feature film that wrapped in April. FilmWise Media spent a year helping Prescience Films plan this feature film. Dan McCabe, producer, writer, and director has been working on this project for years. Many of the actors were hired from Portland and were ready to go when the week-long shoot began. The film was a fun week of intense filming. Over the next couple of months FilmWise Media will be continuing to help finalize the editing by supplying some visual effects and rotoscoping some scenes to enhance the final cut. The final product will be fully finished and premiered at the Columbia Center for the Arts later this year. To learn more and keep up to date with this movie check out Prescience Films website.

Reuben Betts, owner of FilmWise Media, had the opportunity to shoot video along side one of CNN’s videographers while working with one of their producers, Tamara Wilson from New York. They were filming a segment for the Morning Express with Robin Mead about the Hood River, OR business Foothills Yarn and Fiber / Cascade Alpacas. M & M Helmick Wedding

Wedding Reception Venue: Grand Lodge, Children’s Cottage – Forest Grove, OR

FilmWise Media had the honor of filming the beautiful marriage of Mark and Melissa on July 16, 2011. Mark and Melissa got married in the Old Scotch Church. The Old Scotch Church has been a part of the Helmick/Smith family for several generations. William J. Smith, Mark’s Great Grandfather, started this connection in the late 40’s. It was a beautiful setting for this couple to join together in marriage just as Mark’s parents and grandparents had done before.

The reception was held at the elegant McMenamins Grand Lodge in the Children’s Cottage. The wonderful reception dinner was held outside, followed by the AC/DC cover band, Thunderstruck, playing inside the cottage. It was such a great venue to film and a amazing wedding to attend.

Reuben was a groomsman in the wedding and therefore we had Marc Johnson film the ceremony and part of the reception. Thank you very much Marc Johnson for your time.
